A Florida man who hired a pilot to fly a special banner for former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach said it was also a message to Trump's supporters.

Self-proclaimed Democratic activist and critic of Trump Thomas Kennedy said he and a group of friends from Miami paid $1,800 to have the banner flown over the residence.

The banner, which read "Ha Ha Ha..." was flown over the residence for three hours on Wednesday.

"It brought me a lot of joy to do so," Kennedy said in an interview with NBC6. "I would do it again."

The banner was sighted just days after the FBI announced a raid on the former president's residence on Monday.

Two senior government officials told Newsweek that the "raid" on Mar-a-Lago was largely based on information from an FBI confidential human source who was able to identify where Trump was hiding classified documents.

The anonymous officials said the search was "deliberately timed" to happen when Trump was away from the residence.

While few details have been shared about the search, it is believed to be part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged removal and destruction of classified White House records after Trump left office in January 2021.

But with so little information and Trump posting a statement through his Truth Social that the "siege" was "unannounced," his supporters began gathering to protest in front of the Palm Beach property.

Kennedy, who was responsible for organizing the flight for the banner, said it was a message not only for Trump but also for the people protesting on the road in front of the property and bridge that connects the island to other parts of Palm Beach.

"To the Trump supporters still gathered outside Mar-a-Lago, do something better with your time than defending a billionaire grifter who doesn't care about you," Kennedy said on Twitter.

Videos posted online showed supporters in their vehicles with Trump signs while individuals on the sidewalk fly flags in solidarity.

"This is how you treat wannabe authoritarians like Trump. You ridicule and mock them," Kennedy said in another tweet.

In a social media post made Monday evening, Trump called the FBI search a "weaponization of the Justice System" and "an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for President in 2024."

He also referred to the FBI's search as "prosecutorial misconduct" and "assault."
