Dinner at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, Syracuse, NY
Syracuse, N.Y. — Bright and acidic, the green salsa surrounding the quesadilla verde from Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in Downtown Syracuse added complexity and depth. The tomatillo- and cilantro-based salsa was mild in spice but bold in flavor, inviting tortilla chips to the platter to scoop up the green chunks of vegetables.
The quesadilla itself was stuffed full of shredded chicken and cheese, the same blend that would appear elsewhere on the menu. The meat was flavorful and juicy, but it was the salsa verde that pushed this particular dish over the top.
