Har Ghar Tiranga campaign held across State Source: The Sangai Express / DIO
Bpr/Kmj/Kpi/Phz/Tpl, August 11 2022: Joining the rest of the country, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was carried out across the State today to commemorate 75 glorious years of India's Independence. BISHNUPUR As a part of Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign, District Administration Bishnupur organised a Walkathon today to inspire the people to hoist the National flag at their homes. A large number of students holding the tricolor marched from Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School led by Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram. SP Bishnupur, N Herojit Meitei along with other district officials and NYK volunteers also joined the walkathon. The walkathon culminated at INA Memorial Complex in Moirang. Meanwhile, ZEO, Zone IV, Bishnupur also organised painting, slogan writing and quiz competitions for classes VIII to XII as part of the HGT campaign in the district. KAMJONG. Under the HGT campaign, District Administration Kamjong has distributed 6491 flags received from GAD to the officials of various departments and the public. It has also displayed hoardings at five different locations of the district. Posters provided by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Manipur have been displayed at the DC office complex and all the District level offices. Moreover, the office of Zonal Education Officer, Kamjong has been organising a series of school events in all the Government, Government-aided and private schools of the district to instill a feeling of patriotism and sense of ownership to the students. PHERZAWL HGT campaign began today at the District Headquarters led by SDO Tipaimukh/Vangai, I Dineshkumar Singh. A flag rally was conducted from the DC Office Complex to Village Square with participants holding the tricolor and chanting the slogan, "We will hoist the tricolor at home and celebrate the festival of freedom". Similar demonstration under the HGT campaign was held by schools under ZEO Pherzawl District. Flex Banners were also put on display at DC Office Complex in District HQs, DC Camp Office in Churachandpur, CMO Office, SP Office, SDO Office in Parbung and Vangai. TENGNOUPAL Deputy Commissioner Tengnoupal Mannuamching led the HGT campaign by distributing the National flag to commuters and transporters of goods on the National Highway-1 today. DLOs and staff of different Departments participated in the distribution and pasting of posters in Government offices, educational institutions and along the highway. As a part of the campaign, essay competitions were also held for students of Government aided and private schools. BORDER SECURITY FORCE To commemorate 75 years of India's Independence, Umesh Kumar Nayal, IG, PPMG, PPMDS, STC BSF Churachandpur flagged off a motorcycle rally yesterday in the presence of officers, SOs, jawans, family members and villagers of Gangpimual, Pearsonmun and Songpi. He also distributed National flags to the villagers. The rally covered the area from Gangpimual, SP Office to Peace Ground and back to STC BSF Campus, said a release issued by BSF. A cultural programme on patriotic themes was also organised by BSF troops at Peace Ground. ASSAM RIFLES 22 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 22 Sector Assam Rifles/HQ IGAR(E) conducted HGT campaign today at Kangpokpi District Headquarters. During the function held at Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi town, a mega event was also organized for the residents of Kangpokpi. The mega event was graced by Brig PS Arora, Cdr HQ 22 Sector AR; Col Puneet Atwal, SM, Commandant 22 AR and other Assam Rifles officials apart from Saikul AC MLA, Kimneo Haokip Hangshing; ex-ADC Sadar Hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing, CSOs of Kangpokpi, village chiefs, Kangpokpi Town Committee members, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organizations and Kangpokpi Youth Union leaders. During the event, a combined display of military pipe band and jazz band of 22 Assam Rifles mesmerized the audience. It was followed by cultural performances including Kuki cultural dance, Nepali cultural dance, and a hymnal from TBA Keithelmanbi Choir. As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and promote HGT campaign, Khoupum Battalion under the aegis of 1GAR (S) organised an "Essay and Elocution competition" at Don Bosco School, Khongbung, Noney District on August 11.Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of HQ 26 Sector AR also organised a drawing competition at St Peter's school Tengnoupal today, said a statement of IGAR(S) . A motivational lecture on "Role of students in nation building" was also conducted. Moreover, Keithelmanbi and Mantripukhri Battalions also conducted awareness lectures on the National Flag at Thoubal, Kamjong and Bishnupur districts and Mantripukhri Garrison on August 11.During the lecture,' locals and troops of Assam Rifles were enlightened about the history of the National Flag, its importance and the Flag Code. * This news is as published by respected news daily at Imphal, whose name is duly marked as 'Source'.
